GK Industrial has successfully designed, installed, tested and commissioned an integrated HVAC and mechanical energy efficeint building solution into Ashfield School, a specialist technology, vocational, language college and training school set within a self-contained 40 acre rural campus.
Ashfield School had been granted permission to create a state of the art £6million Post 16 New Build Skills Centre. The centre has created one of the most extensive ranges of vocational and educational provisions of any school in Nottinghamshire and the UK.
GK Industrial was bought in as mechanical consultants to provide a specification for the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning system.
Fresh air ventilation for cooling and CO2 removal via ducted heat recovery units was introduced across the entire building, with heating provided via under-floor heating, with energy supplied from ground source heat pumps and the building was given an "A" rating for energy efficiency.
New offices adds to GK Scotia’s portfolio in Scotland
August 2009
GK Scotia, GK Industrial's Scottish subsidiary company has begun a large multi-scale installation project into a new 10 storey £55m office project in Glasgow.
Located on St. Vincent’s Street, the Aurora office provides 176,899 sq ft of dynamic grade ‘A’ office space in the heart of the City Centre and is the regions largest speculative central office development since the mid nineties. Owned by BMP Paribas, the project is to fully refurbish the offices with air conditioning, heating and ventilation.
The contract exceeds over half a million pounds, a significant coup for GK Scotia that further demonstrates their dominance of the HVAC sector within Scotland.
Jim Gordon, General Manager at GK Scotia comments, ‘In an ever competitive market place, we fought long and hard to win this project and praise must go to our Sales Team for bringing it home and to our contracts team who are having to deliver it timeously whilst the building is still occupied.
As in any major city centre, the logistics of getting the kit to site, craneage to the roof and getting the correct amount of labour all added to the challenge; but it’s these challenges that make you stronger and our flexible workforce ensured that we will deliver the project on time.’
